What is “Psychic”?

Contrary to popular belief, being psychic is not a super-power; it’s actually part of our innate human abilities. Great philosophers like Aristotle and psychologists like Carl Jung have written extensively about the human connection and ability to access and work with the “animus” – or life force. Everything has it, everything runs on it; it is what creates the world we live in today. Your life force is the most important energy in your life. How much of it do you have access to?

But the great gift of waking up your psychic abilities, whether it be clairvoyance (to see), clairaudience (to hear), clairsentience (to sense), your intuition, or the multitude of other ways we sense and perceive energy is not necessarily to be able to foresee the future, or fix or solve the lives of others. Sure, it’s a nice thing to give readings, healings, and to be able to give a hello to other people, psychically. But the true gift is to be able to see yourself, in present time, clearly.

Carl Jung writes that all of our decision making abilities, thoughts, feelings, and instincts are guided by underlying psychic energies – that unexplored and unchecked may wreak havoc on our lives. Indeed, we do create our own realities. The true gift of being psychic is to be neutral enough to clearly see these influences, and with the power of consciousness, to de-energize, transform, and re-shape them so they are no longer a hindrance – but actually assets.

Clairvoyance is an amazing tool for this, because if you can see an energy, you can get space with it. Almost like one would observe a painting at an art museum – you can take a step back from it, consider it, see what it reveals from all angles. You can then decide if you want to keep it, or if you’d like to change or adjust it. The choice then, becomes yours.

In a period of human history when all of our resources are spent exploring, deconstructing, and analyzing the outer world – very little attention is paid to the essence of our lives – our psyche. We’ve been so busy thinking about what we think that we’ve forgotten to ask what we already know. Your body personality (or psyche) contains the remains of everything you’ve ever experienced – in this life time and previous ones – the light and dark, the beautiful and ugly, the profound and ridiculous. In that, somewhere, is who you are.

The Buddhists would say that everything would change if we all followed the “eigthfold path” of the dharma, and that your psyche is merely a distraction. The Christians tell us that if only we put all of our faith in God, we would have a different world. The rationalists would say that if everyone was reasonable, and acted with intellect, that our world would be changed. The trouble is that none of these things would actually heal the division that has occurred between your conscious and unconscious – or psychic self.

So, what WILL heal you? You. More of your energy and life-force. You already have the answer to the life you want; and it is buried like a treasure deep within you. Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and find it? An energy healing can get things moving. A psychic reading can help you to see some of these energies that are obstructing your path. Classes and workshops on opening up your awareness can help you to begin to see yourself with the love and attention that you deserve. When a client comes to receive a reading or healing – my goal is that they get a hello to who they are in spirit; where they are working, where they are stuck, but more importantly – where they are beautiful. Where they are magnificent. We focus so much on what’s “wrong with us” that we forget how amazing we are. In that remembering is the real healing, for everyone.

  • You have such a straightforward way of talking about the esoteric, Billy. I think it is a real gift. So many people in touch with their sensitive sides get all woo-woo about it, making it into something no ‘normal’ person could understand. You have the ability to make it concrete and practical, bringing it out of the mystical and into the real. Keep up the good work!

  • I agree with Preston. Too many people talk about mystical in such lofty or even may I say even flighty ways, it can serve to alienate the people they are speaking to. The mystical can be concrete and practical. The outsideness of most peoples lives steers them from their abilities and I have to thank you for bringing it back down to earth so to speak.
